A friend of mine has asked for our prayers. Her 24 year old brother was in a bad accident in Denver early yesterday morning. I have helped her create a caring bridge site. Please read his story and pray for their family.

As you take your bath or shower today and you feel the waters rushing over you, keep the psalm in mind and in your heart: “Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.” Even your daily act of showering can be a time of meditation and prayer!

Satan knows exactly how to tempt Jesus. Ash Wednesday Worship
Join together this Wednesday, February 6, 7:00PM at Fairfield UMC for an Ash Wednesday Worship Service. This service allows us to enter into an act of repentance as we prepare to walk with Christ on the journey to the cross. Ash Wednesday worship traditionally allows us to wear a cross, made of ashes (from the ashes of last year's Palms from Palm Sunday) on our forehead as a sign of repentance. Make this service the first step in your Lenten journey.

Jerod Brent Barker, son of Benny and Rhonda Barker, proposed to Diana Lee Cronland, daughter of Aaron and Susan Cronland, on January 23, 2008.
Diana said, "We have been great friends since the 7th grade and thankfully met up later in life to see we were still great friends and a lot more. He asked for permission from my Daddy the day before but had the ring for a month before that. I guess he had to muster up the courage ;) He waited until the very last hour of my 30th birthday to ask me for my hand. Just like a Barker ;)"
Your church family is very excited for you and will stand behind the two of you in prayer. This is such a blessing!

Confirmands Claim the Name!
Today, the confirmation class learned about John Wesley, founder of our denomination. They learned that he had faith the size of a mustard seed and that faith launched a new movement. See if you know the answers to some of the Methodists fun facts they learned.

Wed. Jan. 23...Edd Norton was admitted to Presbyterian Huntersville today. Please keep him in your prayers.
Thurs. Jan. 24...Susan just spent some time with Edd. He is doing better. They are giving him some antibiotics to fight an infection.
His breathing is better and he was cutting up and joking just like normal!

I have heard only raves from the audience about your performance. You guys amaze me every year with your talent and showmanship. I can think of no greater way to have you glorify God this Christmas Season! I had several people tell me that this program is what made their
Christmas. It made them think of the true meaning and really got them in the Christmas Spirit. Each of you are truly a blessing I cherish!
GOOD WORK! Thank you to all the children who worked so hard. Learning the songs was not an overnight task. I enjoyed our Sunday afternoon practices and looked forward to spending time with each of you. I also thank the parents who took the time to help out and get them to practice. The Christmas Story
{Children’s Christmas Program 2007}
Once upon a time, A long, long time ago.
Begins the story of a baby, That most of you should know.
His daddy's name was Joseph, And Mary was His mom,
This babe was very special He was God's only Son.
Song 1: "What Child is This?"
Mary rode a camel, And Joseph walked along,
While angels watched from afar Celebrating in song.
When they arrived in Bethlehem, The couple was turned away,
By keepers of the inn Telling them of no place to stay.
Now Joseph- he insisted That his wife has someplace to stay,
The keeper told him of a stable With animals and hay.
Mary and Joseph’s journey ended In a stable filled with hay,
It was there that Mary gave birth, To our King on this day.
Some angels came from heaven, And they began to sing.
To the shepherds in the fields below,"Glad tidings do we bring!"
Song 2: "Hark the Herald Angels Sing"
Word of the King’s arrival Soon spread very fast,
The Angels told Shepherds That a Savior was born at last.
A bright star lit the heavens, To light the Magi's way,
To the baby in the manger Who was born on Christmas day.
Song 3: "Away in a Manger"
Song 4: "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" (toddler/preschool aged children dressed as stars)
And all who gathered round Him, Rejoiced and praised His birth.
For the babe, the King, named Jesus, Is our Savior here on earth!
So as we celebrate Christmas With Candy and presents and more
Remember we have a Savior,Giving us life evermore.

I have heard only raves from the audience about your performance. You guys amaze me every year with your talent and showmanship. I can think of no greater way to have you glorify God this Christmas Season! I had several people tell me that this program is what made their
Christmas. It made them think of the true meaning and really got them in the Christmas Spirit. Each of you are truly a blessing I cherish!
GOOD WORK! Thank you to all the children who worked so hard. Learning the songs was not an overnight task. I enjoyed our Sunday afternoon practices and looked forward to spending time with each of you. I also thank the parents who took the time to help out and get them to practice.
